Join one of my Door County photography workshops and explore your creativity

National award-winning photographer Cameron Gillie is leading this Door County photography workshop. It’s a weekend full of exploring new creative ways to expand your photography, sharing ideas, and making new friends.

My philosophy

Photography is about exploring the world around you and capturing it with your own unique creative vision. Everyone sees the world around us differently, so we all approach photography differently. This workshop is not only about learning from how I approach photography. I want to help you explore your photographic vision. Everything from seeing an image, capturing it with your camera, editing, and presenting the photos.

One on one learning

With a small group size, everyone can get a lot of one on one attention. A typical day involves traveling to locations at sunrise, returning to the resort for help editing your photos, then in the afternoon, there is some instruction followed by a photo review. In the photo reviews, we share and discuss our photos and learn from each other. Then in the evening, we head back out for some more on-location photography.

Off the Beaten Path

We visit some of the iconic landmarks of Door County and some that are off the beaten path. I get permission to visit some unique locations on private property not available to the public.

The Sturgeon Bay Steel Bridge

Sturgeon Bay

The beautiful town of Sturgeon Bay is the ideal home base for the workshop. Sturgeon Bay also offers a full range of amenities and dining options. We of course, visit many other locations around Door County.

Recommended photography gear

The Door County photography workshop is geared toward digital DSLR cameras or mirrorless digital cameras. It is recommended that you have a digital camera with manual settings and basic knowledge of taking photos, downloading, some simple editing, and sharing photos. Advanced knowledge is not required. This workshop is suited for beginners and intermediate-level photographers.

If you feel you are a bit rusty using your camera or have just purchased a new camera, I also offer short one-on-one refresher courses before the workshop

The workshop price does not include lodging or transportation. Traveling to locations will be done with your own vehicle, but we can also arrange to carpool.
