Wisconsin photography workshops led by Cameron Gillie are an affordable opportunity to learn from a lifelong professional photographer. Cameron was a photojournalist at daily newspapers where he specialized in environmental stories. As an art fair photographer, he focused on nature photography. He hiked the Ice Age Trail documenting Wisconsin for a photography book Around Wisco: Hiking the Ice Age Trail.
Cameron’s Wisconsin photography workshops are geared toward beginners up to advanced amateurs with a DSLR or mirrorless camera. Advanced knowledge is not required.

Rivertowns photography workshop

The Rivertowns photography workshop is three days of photographing small towns nestled in the amazing scenery along the Mississippi River and the Wisconsin River. These riverside Driftless towns have a great deal of history, charm, and character. It’s a great opportunity for capturing unique images.

Details in nature photography workshop
Coming in July 2027
In this workshop we focus on capturing the details inside a wider nature scene. Macro and detail images are a great photographic tool to have in your toolbox. These images can compliment a series of photographs or stand on their own. We will create some Macro and detail photography on the beautiful Ice Age Trail segments in Dane and Columbia Counties.

The Driftless photography workshop

In this three day workshop we photograph the unique landscapes where the Driftless Area meets the glaciated areas of Wisconsin, some of the most inspiring scenery in Wisconsin. Join me as we explore the iconic landmarks as well as some hidden gems in the Baraboo area.

The Door County photography workshop is an extensive three-day workshop that is all about exploring new creative ways to expand your digital photography beyond the typical postcard scenic photographs. It’s a weekend full of photography, learning, and sharing ideas.

Film photography workshops
I’m also an avid film photographer and offer a range of film photography and darkroom classes in Madison, Wisconsin. The darkroom classes are flexible one on one classes and can be arranged to fit both our schedules.
About Cameron
Cameron is a national award-winning photographer whose 30-year career included working as a staff photographer at daily newspapers, wedding photography, and fine art photography. He was on staff at the Naples Daily News, a three-time winner of the “Best use of Photography” in the international “Pictures of the Year” contest. In addition, he was awarded many national awards for his newspaper photojournalism wedding photography.
Cameron has worked as a contract photographer and volunteer photographer for the Ice Age Trail Alliance and his photographs are often featured in the Ice Age Trail publications, social media, and website.
