Description

A signed print of the John Muir Segment of the Ice Age Trail in Marquette County, Wisconsin.

Across this small lake in Marquette County was where John Muir grew up and worked a farm with his family. Muir is often referred to as the founder of our National Parks and this beautiful kettle lake and hills surrounding it played an early role in developing his lifelong obsession with nature. He became one of history’s biggest advocates for wild places and dedicated his life to preserving our nation’s natural treasures. He made several unsuccessful attempts to purchase this land back later in his life. Today it is preserved as a County Park and the Ice Age Trail loops around the lake.

The mat size is a standard 11 in x14 inches and is ready to be framed. I use museum quality rag mats and archival tape to hang the archival print in the mat so the prints will last a lifetime.
