So what is Coffee and Cameras? It is a small informal group of Wisconsin photographers who occasionally meet up to go take some photographs. Then we reward ourselves with some coffee. It’s about having fun, sharing stories, and exploring new places.
All skill levels are welcome. This is a social group, not a competitive one. So you are encouraged not to take yourself too seriously, We try to leave egos at home… or at least kept it on a 6-foot leash.
Digital and film photographers are all welcome. This is an inclusive group. Even Holga photographers will be tolerated.
The outings will either start off or end at a coffee shop or cafe. Good food and good conversation is as important as taking photos. An added benefit to Coffee and Cameras is we will be helping to support small businesses.
Locations
I plan to make this a variety of locations so it will appeal to different photography interests.
While I’m initiating this, I am not the emperor that dictates what we do. Please feel free to suggest locations or setup and lead an outing.

Be Wisconsin Nice!
- Coffee and Cameras is about having fun. This is a real life “social” activity. Not social media.
- When taking photos be respectful of private property and the privacy of people you photograph. I’ve found approaching people and starting a conversation first makes for much better images anyway.
- Be respectful of the coffee shops and their staff as we support small businesses. Let’s leave them happy we came in and hoping we return soon.
- Share your opinions about photography, but I think we can all agree it would be nice to take a break from discussing politics and world events. I think we will be successful in exchanging ideas on photography, but I doubt we can succeed in solving the world’s problems.
